Lesson 1: My ‘natural week’ at work experiment resulted in me having to lie constantly and say I wasn’t feeling well as I was too ashamed to say I just wasn’t wearing any makeup. I normally did the you know ‘fake natural look’ which really was a ton of makeup and powder. Everyone kept asking me ‘Are you ok? You look tired.’ I even horror of horrors received a message from my boss asking me if I needed to talk about any problems I was having. Needless to say, I made a miraculous recovery the following week (following the restart of my ‘natural’ makeup look) and everyone commented on how I looked much better.
Lesson 2: My next disaster involves me having read somewhere or other that toothpaste dries out and clears spots up and was a good alternative to expensive products on the market. I then proceeded to smear it all over my spots just before I went to bed. Turns out I have sensitive skin and then woke up with giant read wheels all over my face. I resembled coco the clown! Turns out (at least for me) toothpaste should be only used on my teeth!
Lesson 3: I am unable to follow YouTube makeup videos. I think it could possibly be a character defect but no matter how many times I sit there and try to follow the videos I end up looking like I am trying to audition for clown school!
Lesson 4: Eyeliner hates me. Seriously. I can’t do those fabulous winged eyeliner lines on my eyes. I tend to look like I have gone 10 rounds in a boxing match. Not a great look and I have now given up trying the most I do is a small thin hardly noticeable line!
Lesson 5: Don’t get your eyebrows threaded just before an important meeting/interview/date (delete or add event as appropriate) Yeah silly me I decided to go get my brows done during a lunch break right before a meeting. Again, I have sensitive skin (a fact that somehow escapes me at like really, really important moments). I then proceeded to talk at a meeting with the whole of my eyelids and eyebrows glowing red. I could see colleagues trying to contain themselves and not wet themselves laughing. Fun times (not).
